Wimbledon: an apology

Over the last 2 weeks we may have given the impression that the format of the Wimbledon tennis tournament had been changed from a knock-out competition to a sequential format in which a series of players seek to defeat a British tennis player, Mr Andrew Murray, in a 7 match series held over 2 weeks.

We would like to correct that impression and clarify that the men's competition is but one of several competitions at the tournament and retains its usual 128 player knockout format. We would also like to clarify that Mr Murray is Scottish.

We apologise for any misunderstanding.
